I have started this site to be a central area for Laraway information. A few years ago I had an idea to be a "Clearinghouse" for Laraway info. With the Internet I can do that. I had this as a part of my site on another server for a few years but didn't have time to really work on it. I'm still not sure I have enough time but I am going to put more time into it than before. Eventually I want to put my info into a database format that will be easily searched and accessed by all (and at no charge). I have gotten e-mails from people in the past but haven't responded to all of them. However, I will try to respond to those in the near future (I have tried to keep all of them , but did lose some in several computer crashes) and will respond to all future e-mails in a much more prompt manner.
What I have: I currently have over 2200 people in my "Brother's Keeper" database, about half of which bear the Laraway name. I also have information on many others that I haven't yet put into the database because I haven't linked them into any line yet. I have photocopies of almost all the federal census sheets with Laraways on them up through 1870. I have some other miscellaneous records also.
Laraway Lines: I know of at least 3 separate Laraway lines with different origins.
My line: My personal Laraway line has been traced back to a William Laraway who reportedly came from England (though I have no records for that). My direct line from him is as follows (leaving out the brothers, sisters, and wives);

If you e-mail me with your Laraway names I will see if I can connect them with info I have. With input from you this can become a comprehensive Laraway database. There aren't that many Laraways around, so this is an achievable goal.
