reportedly came from England, but I have no documentation of that, nor when or
where he was born. I have attempted to remove or obscure all references to
people who are still living, though I do have many of them in my database.

Was killed by being crushed between a lock and canal boat on the Erie canal. Catherine: City clerk records of Montezuma show her as being 79 yrs and 3 days old when she died, also shows her born in New Jersey. Died of cerebral hemorrhage followed by a coma. City clerk records also show her father as John Phillips and her mother as Ann Phillips.
